Taken from my Proyecto 4 wine review and moved here.
Sitting down and having a nice glass of wine, has always been about personal taste. But picking the right bottle is intimidating to first time buyers to the point they may pick something that does not blend or match the taste of the dish or their own personal tastes. And that’s the ticket right there, know your tastes. Each of my reviews will have a key on my ratings, an explanation of my tastes in wine, and why I picked that bottle. Sometimes they will be random selections, other times, they will be selected for a particular taste or flavor.
When a first time buyer goes to purchase wine for their first time, ask one of the salespeople at the liquor store as that is their job, to help you, the first time buyer, find what you would like to enjoy. If you know that you are going to be serving the wine with a dish, remember white wines for white meats like poultry, pork and fish, while red wines go well with red meats, pasta, and soups and salads. Know what kind of flavors or food tastes you like as this can help them find exactly what you may be looking for. Or do what I do, just pick up a bottle and give it a try if you are unsure but always make sure it’s within your price range. Read my wine reviews as I cover all kinds of wines.
